On the back, the Jan Szymanski inventory label “n°333 / Tajemnica Myśli” (damaged) and the Galerie Krugier label n°333, giving the title “Mystère de la Danse”. The frame decorated with painted circles was made by the artist himself, which is exceptional in his work. (Minor damage to frame). 42 x 32 cm; size with original frame: 65 x 55.5 cm. Provenance : – Workshop of Boleslas Biegas bequeathed to the Société Historique et Littéraire Polonaise de Paris in 1954 (Jan Szymanski inventory, no. 333). – Acquired by Galerie Jan Krugier, Geneva, from the former in 1971. – Sale Atelier de Boleslas Biegas (1877-1954), Me Pierre Cornette de Saint-Cyr, Paris, Hôtel Drouot, June 30, 1987, lot no. 41, under the title “Mystère de la danse”. Dwa sferyczne oleje Bolesława Biegasa we Francji. Ader sprzedaje, moim zdaniem, jedną z najlepszych prac tego artysty. Została w dodatku oprawiona w ramę zaprojektowaną przez Biegasa. Coś w tym jest, że ramy zaprojektowane przez artystów do konkretnych obrazów dodają spendoru tym pracom (np. Malczewski a współcześnie Musiałowicz). Myślę, że Ader będzie mile zaskoczony osiągnietą ceną bo podobnie drapieżne z wyglądu prace o znakomitej proweniencji sprzedawano znacznie wyżej od proponowanych widełek estymacji. Przeglądając katalog nadchodzącej aukcji w Ader daje się zauważyć niezwykła staranność w poszukiwaniu i potwierdzaniu proweniencji prac tam zawartych co powinno stanowić golden standard dla polskich domów aukcyjnych i galerii.

Obraz, który sprzedaje Crait + Muller również posługuje się proweniencją (wystawa w Krakowie) lecz brak jest fotografii mogących ją potwierdzić. Same nazwisko kolekcjonera może nie wystarczyć bo sam obraz jest subietywnie słabszy od tego w Ader. Trzeba pamiętać o proweniencjach bo na rynku jest sporo falsyfikatów prac Biegasa, odbiegających jednak od ręki tego artysty lecz sporo naiwnych daje się nabrać. Proponowana cena estymacyjna w Crait + Muller nie zachęci niektórych do aukcji choć ten dom aukcyjny może posiadać jakieś dodatkowe informacje (dokumentacje) i o to należy tam pytać.
