Wohl der Plakatentwurf für die erste Ausstellung polnischer Expressionisten 1917 in Krakau, die Tytus Czyżewski, ein polnischer Maler, Dichter und Kunstkritiker, mit den Brüdern Zbigniew and Andrzej Pronaszko organisierte. Eine daraus entstandene Künstlergruppe wurde später als “Polnische Formisten” bekannt. Bis zum Auseinanderbrechen der Gruppe im Jahr 1922 war Czyżewski einer der Köpfe der Bewegung.

Franciszek Streitt studierte bis 1971 an der Kunsthochschule Krakau und Wien. 1871 übersiedelte er nach München und wurde Mitglied der polnischen Künstlergruppe um Josef von Brandt und Alfred von Wierusz-Kowalski.
