Malował pejzaże z różnych miejsc europejskich a także palestyńskich. Ten, przedstawiający wioskę na Podhalu w zimie, jest mały, dobry i tanio wyceniony (zabaczymy jak przebiegnie aukcja). Obraz wygląda jakby namalowany został kredkami pastelowymi.

Nie bardzo sobie wyobrażam by ta praca została namalowana ręką Abrahama Neumanna. Może jest nietypowa dla tego malarza? Zbyt dużo znaków zapytania, subiektywnie nieciekawy temat, dymki z kominów fabrycznych na lewo, nieskazitelnie biały dym z lokomotywy, słupy jak sztachety na lewo niedaleko torów, semafor w pozycji ‘stój’ a pociąg jedzie, bardzo niewyraźna i ‘wstydliwa’ sygnatura. Są dobre i słabsze prace Neumanna ale ta nie mieści mi się w tym przedziale (dlaczego taka nisko wyceniona?).

Lot 666. Neumann, Abraham (1873 Sierpc, Russia -1942 Krakow Ghetto) – Field landscape with haystacks after the harvest, oil on card board, signed ”A. Neuman” lower left, dimensions: c. 65×91,5cm, framing -A. Neumann was a well-known Polish landscape painter and graphic artist. He studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, and later in 1903 for a short time at the Académie Julian in Paris. He was well-traveled and visited not only several European countries, such as the UK, Belgium, the Netherlands and Austria, but also the USA and Palestine, he worked as a teacher at the Bezalel School of Fine Arts and Arts, his studio was located in Zakopane, during the German occupation of Poland the Jewish artist had to move to the Krakow Ghetto, where he was shot in the open street together with the poet Mordechaj Gebirtig in 1942.

Condition: The painting is in good condition, consistent with age. It is slightly discolored and with tiny losses of color in the part of the vegetation. The frame shows usual signs of age and wear.
Abraham Neumann (1873-1942) The Polish painter Abraham Neumann who was born in 1973 in the former Russian Sierpc studied around the turn of the century at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Later he went to a study stay to the Académie Julian in Paris. Neumann travelled a lot in his life: He visited the Netherlands, Belgium, England and Germany, stayed in Vienna for some time and travelled to the US and around Palestine in the 1920s. In Jerusalem, he taught at the Academy of Art and Design in Bezalel. The artist primarily painted landscapes but portraits and genre scenes, interiors and still lifes belong to his oeuvre as well. During the era of national socialism Neumann was detained in the Krakow Ghetto where he created (self) portraits. In 1942, the artist was shot dead during the evacuating of the ghetto by German National Socialist.
