Bardzo sobie cenię wczesną twórczość tego malarza. Jego krótkotrwałe zafasynowanie japonizmem doprowadzilo do powstania kilku znakomitych martwych natur. Im póżniej było tym gorzej dla jego prac. Przykładem jest ten trochę banalny portret kobiety. Dom aukcyjny sugeruje, że namalowaną jest jego żona, Pola. Cena estymacyjna jest nierealna.
