Portret młodej kobiety stworzony, wydawałoby się, niewielkim wysiłkiem bo kilkoma pociagnięciami farby wodnej, z użyciem jedynie trzech kolorów. Jest w niej coś z zamyślenia, zastanowienia się. Od jakiegoś czasu odkrywam na nowo Kanelbę jako portrecistę, zwłaszcza kobiet.

Rajmund Kaneba jest dla mnie niezrównanym portrecistą kobiet, bardzo subtelnie rysunący portret psychologiczny, pozwalający na niedopowiedzenia i możliwość inerpretacji. Obraz bardzo ładnie nazwany.

Rajmund Kanelba, 1897 – 1960, studierte in Warschau, Wien und Paris. Er ist ein berühmter Protagonist der weltberühmten l’Ecole de Paris. Der Künstler kam 1925 nach Paris und blieb in weiter Folge in der Seine Metropole. Ab diesem Jahr 1925 bis 1958 wurden seine Werke im Salon d’Automne und von 1926 bis 1928 im Salon de Indépendents ausgestellt. Der Salon der Truileries von 1927 – 1938 und der Salon de l’escalier 1928 zeigten ebenfalls seine impressionistischen Gemälde. Im Jahr 1952 ehrte man den Maler mit einer großen Retrospektive in New York City. Die meiste Zeit seines Lebens und Schaffens arbeitete Kanelba in Paris. Footnotes: Rajmund Kanelba studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw and in Vienna until 1923. When he arrived in Paris in 1925, he started to exhibit his work at the Salon d’Automne, Salon des Indépendants, Salon des Tuileries, and Salon de l’Escalier. He often visited Pont-Aven where he painted alongside other Polish artists. After Kanelba’s work was exhibited in Bordeaux, he met the collector and art critic Marcel Bernheim at the Galerie Bernheim-Jeune. He was also introduced to Léopold Zborovski. Both dealers helped promote his work with his first important exhibition taking place at the Zborovski gallery in 1928. His works were then exhibited in Berlin, Warsaw, and Paris.
