Ferdynand Chotomski Dienheim. Faisan à l’orée du bois, 1844

Człowiek, który w swoim życiorysie ma walkę w kampanii napoleońskiej przeciw Rosji, pracę w administracji Królestwa Kongresowego, udział w Powstaniu Listopadowym w Gwardii Narodowej oraz w korpusie generała Rybińskiego, okres emigracji we Francji i podjęcie tam studiów medycznych, walkę jako ochotnik w wojskach Garibaldiego i dużo, dużo więcej. Był też ilustratorem, tworzył w oleju, akwareli i w ołówku. Słownik Artystów Polskich podaje, że „ podjął myśl opracowania na nowo albumu roślin, ptaków i zwierząt w Królestwie Polskim, pozostawiając znaczną ilość opracowanych szkiców”. Rusunek z obecnej aukcji zbiega się z tą własnie tematyką. Na pewno handlarze nie będą zainteresowani tym pięknym bażantem, narysowanym w 1844 roku. Posiadanie takiego drobiazgu to niewątpliwie nobilitacja w oczach innych kolekcjonerów.

Lot 175. CHOTOMSKI-DIENHEJM Ferdinand (Kokoszycach 1797 1880 Gulczewo) – [Faisan à l’orée du bois]. 1844. Dessin original à la mine de plomb, rehaussé à l’aquarelle, sur papier Chine appliqué. Marges. Ferdinand Chotomski fut une figure peu connue mais prolifique du XIXème siècle. Poète, traducteur, journaliste, médecin, peintre et humoriste polonais, cet homme aux multiples passions participa aux grands évènements de son siècle. A côté de ses nombreuses publications littéraires et satiriques, de ses activités de rédacteur en chef du Journal de Galice et de ses traductions en polonais des comédies de Molière, le lieutenant Chotomski participa aux Guerres Napoléoniennes lors desquelles il fut fait prisonnier jusqu’en 1814 et s’engagea activement dans les révoltes de Varsovie et de Cracovie de 1830. On lui prête également un rôle dans la seconde guerre d’indépendance italienne aux côtés de Garibaldi. Autodidacte, il n’eut de cesse de se former à l’histoire ancienne et moderne, à l’archéologie, aux beaux-arts, au commerce et à la médecine. Cet artiste, militaire et homme politique fut un homme complet du XIX siècle. Le calme de ce paysage de campagne tranche avec l’agitation de cette vie riche et bousculée. 18,4 x 24,9 cm. Footnotes: Rajmund Kanelba studied at the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw and in Vienna until 1923. When he arrived in Paris in 1925, he started to exhibit his work at the Salon d’Automne, Salon des Indépendants, Salon des Tuileries, and Salon de l’Escalier. He often visited Pont-Aven where he painted alongside other Polish artists. After Kanelba’s work was exhibited in Bordeaux, he met the collector and art critic Marcel Bernheim at the Galerie Bernheim-Jeune. He was also introduced to Léopold Zborovski. Both dealers helped promote his work with his first important exhibition taking place at the Zborovski gallery in 1928. His works were then exhibited in Berlin, Warsaw, and Paris. During his career, he was commissioned to produce works for the French, Polish, and British governments. In 1955, he painted the portrait of the Queen Elizabeth II. Estimate 1,200 – 1,500 GBP. Kanelba to dla dla mnie przede wszytkim subtelny portrecista, zwłaszcza kobiet, potrafiący wydobyć pędzlem najlepsze cechy ich charakteru. Portret powyżej jest 4x lepszy od portretu z maskami i 4x tańszy.

Adolphe Basler (1878-1849): Author, collector, art historian, critic and gallery owner, Basler belonged to the artistic milieu of Montparnasse at the beginning of the 20th century. Coming from a family of rabbis from Krakow, he arrived in Paris in 1898 and frequented the Parisian intellectual and literary milieu (Paul Fort and André Salmon) and painters (Modigliani and Pascin). He was introduced there by the Polish poet Mécislas Golberg. He soon opened a gallery where he exhibited Kisling among the first. In the 20’s he directed in the Sèvres Gallery where Utrillo, Dufy and Coubine were exhibited. His writings on art are numerous (monographs on contemporary artists, African arts). He participates in aesthetic debates in magazines (Revue Blanche, Mercure de France and Die Aktion, Der Cicerone) and is recognized as an eminent art critic. His friendships with artists, his intellectual influence and his impressive physique have made him a model for many painters: Kisling (who made him a cubist portrait in 1914), Modigliani, Czobel and Grünewald.

The art of Léopold Gottlieb. Arrived in France in 1899, he was one of the Poles from Montparnasse alongside the painters Hayden, Zak, Mela Muter and the sculptors Ostrowski and Nadelman. His art is marked by his experiences linked to the Avant-Garde (Group of Five from Krakow, the Viennese Secession in which he participated, Fauvism and Cubism at the Salon d’Automne in Paris where he exhibited between 1904 and 1934).
Our portrait of Basler, certainly painted around 1920, reflects these mixed influences. The seated figure possesses a constructive solidity to be matched with the assured psychology of the intellectual. The strong and discontinuous drawing comes from the German expressionists, while the bright green, yellow and brick-red colours are the result of a fauvism that is here somewhat muted.

Sprawa jest dość jasna w przypadku obrazu sprzedawanego przez Auktionshaus Wendl. To odgrzewany kotlet, jaki kilka miesięcy wcześniej usiłował sprzedać Schloss Alhden z ceną rezerwową 11,000 euro. Obecnie, cena rezerwowa spadła do 3,900 euro, https://polishartcorner.com/2020/04/11/stanislaw-zukowski-1873-1944-28/ . Straszna deflacja lecz widać z bez powiększeń dlaczego. Nawet białe litery nazwiska malarza (pisanego cyrylicą) odpadają z płótna.

Stanisław Żukowski. Waldstück am See

Druga praca, sprzedawana w domu Rutten, wymaga więcej wysiłku. Chciałbym w tym obrazie zobaczyć światło, czyste powietrze, niebieskie niebo i jego odbicia w wodzie, czysty śnieg. Patrząc na powiększenie wokół sygnatury wolałbym nie widzieć tego brudu. Powinien się wypowiedzieć ktoś kto ma większe doświadczenie i ma w swoich zbiorach kilka prac Żukowskiego. Nie bardzo wierzę, że to jest praca Stanisława Żukowskiego.

Höhe 66 cm, Breite 59 cm. Gerahmt Höhe 73 cm, Breite 66 cm. Leichte Altersspuren, kleiner Farbabplatzer.Anmerkung.: Zhukovsky, Zhukovski, Zhukovskii, Zukowski verschiedene Schreibweisen, war ein Schüler von Isaak Levitan und Absolvent der Moskauer Hochschule für Malerei. Er war ein berühmter impressionister Maler, der sich u.a. der Landschaftsmalerei widmete. Im Jahre 1923 verließ er Rußland und zog in seine Heimat Polen. Während des 2.
