Ha! Na specjalne życzenie. Obraz ten pojawia się na rynku po raz drugi w ciagu ostatnich kilku miesięcy. Można przeczytać to o nim napisałem jakiś czas temu na tym blogu bo niczego nie zmienię. Ważne jest, że obecny właściciel poskrobał się po głowie, pomyślał, emocje i entuzjazm opadły i doszedł pewnie do tych samych wniosków do jakich ja kiedyś doszedłem. Obraz mu (jej) się opatrzył, gorzko zapłakał (myślę jednak, że to chłop bo konie to ‘rycerski’ temat) nad tym co zrobił i chce teraz odzyskać pieniądze. Niską cenę rezerwową ($5,000) w stosunku do wysokiej ceny poprzednio sprzedanej pracy ($12,000 + ca 15% młotkowego+ca $300 shipping = ca $14,100) sugeruje desperację sprzedającego. Może jednak będzie miał szczęście przy nieszczęściu kolejnego amatora na ‘gędłowszczyznę’ tj. na smutne konie, smutnych wąsatych jeźdźców celebrujących w stepie przy pochmurnym dniu radośnie święto nadejścia wiosny. Można na to patrzeć czas jakiś spode łba ale chwalić się nie ma czym.

Gedlek, the Polish born artist who studied first in Krakow and eventually Vienna, became known for his views of Ukrainian Cossacks. His Romanticist manner of painting was popularized during the 19th century. This particular view is a top example, with numerous figures performing military maneuvers.
Provenance: Purchased from Dominion Gallery, Montreal, Canada in the 1970s. Estimate $10,000 – $15,000. Reserve $5,000. Covan’s. Oct.11, 2014.

Die große scheise or the big shit.

Niemiecki dom aukcyjny Bergmann (warto zapamiętać tę nazwę!) uwiarygadnia słowem „zugerschreiben” czyli po naszemu „przypisany” ewidentny falsyfikat pracy Wojciecha Weissa. Przypisanie pracy danemu autorowi oznacza bardzo bliskie prawdopodobiestwo pokrewieństwa, tj. że dana praca wyszła spod pędzla tego malarza a pozostaja jedynie małe wątpliwości jakimi może być np. brak sygnatury. W tym przypadku fima Bergmann idzie ‘ w zaparte’. Jest bowiem sygnatura (sfałszowana), jest nalepka z tyłu obrazu mająca uwiarygodnic pochodzenie tej pracy ze szwajcarskiej galerii i jest cały opis tej tej pracy mówiący o malarzu. Guma jest tak naciagnieta, ale pęka jak się spojrzy na tę pracę. Nie pomoże opis, nie pomoże sygnatura, nie pomoże nalepka. Fals to fals i Bergmann dobrze o tym wie. Trzeba omijać ten dom aukcyjny szerokim łukiem. Utrata klientów to pierwszy sygnał do bankructwa firmy.

Może znowu wypłynie na ebay ale tym razem z proweniencją firmy Bergmann? Interes do zrobienia.

Osoba, która czyściła ten obraz robiła to trochę z głową zostawiając nienaruszoną signaturę. Praca OK ale już wyrażałem swoją opinie o zopfach.

Lot 74. Jan van Chelminski (1851-1925), Riders in the Park, Paris, circa 190. Oil on canvas. Polish genre, hunting and war artist. Signed lower left ‘Jan V. Chelminski’. Verso with unfinished sketch of an officer on horseback. Ornamental gold frame with plaque. Dimensions: 41 x 51 cm. Provenance: Private collection, Switzerland.

A classic motif for Chelminski; comparable equestrian subjects by the artist fetch up to €14,500 on the international auction market.

The present painting by Jan van Chelminski was created around 1900 and depicts a young woman on horseback before a small forested area. She is wearing a splendid red costume decorated with rich gold trimmings, which hints at her high social status. In the left background one discern another figure on horseback, presumably her suitor whom she has only just seen off. Van Chelminski painted mainly riders and battle scenes from the Napoleonic campaigns as well as genre or hunting scenes, which enjoyed particular appreciating among the members of the upper classes.
The work is in restored condition. The surface is heavily cleaned with rubbed off color, except in the area around signature, where the old varnish is still preserved. There are retouchings to the background, the horse and the figure. The frame shows some wear. The framed work measures 56 x 66 cm, the stretcher frame measures 41 x 51 cm.

Jan van Chelminski (1851-1925)
Chelminski studied at the Warsaw drawing school and was a pupil of the painter and draftsman Juliusz Kossak. In 1874 he moved to Munich where he attended the Academy of Fine Art as a student of Józef Brandt and the battle and horse painter Franz Adam. From 1876 onwards Chelminski participated in exhibitions in Munich, Berlin, Vienna, London and Paris. He was primarily a war painter but his genre and hunting paintings were especially sought after by members of the upper classes. Chelminski traveled to the UK, Paris and St. Petersburg before eventually settling in New York. Estimate €2,400 – €3,000. Auctionata. 10/6/14.
