NOTE Painted in 1973, Relief nr. 14 comes directly from the collection of the master of Italian abstract art, Achille Perilli, who died two years ago. This work, which was given to him by Henryk Stażewski and which he kept for more than forty years, testifies to the friendship and mutual admiration between the two artists. It was during the exhibition devoted to Perilli in Warsaw in 1969 at the Foksal Gallery, founded three years earlier by a group of critics and artists including Stażewski, that they had met. From then on, Perilli would remain closely linked to the Polish avant-garde gathered at the Foksal Gallery and even initiated an exhibition at the Palazzo delle Esposizion in Rome in 1979, entitled “L’avanguardia polacca 1910-1978” which included several works by Stażewski. Estimate 8,000 – 12,000 euro. Tajan. 06/07/23. Sold 8,200 euro
