Ta praca Pawła Merwarta trąci myszką, podobnie jak wiele prac Władysława Bakałowicza. Nie popłaca grzebanie się w ‘królewskiej’ przeszłości i ta sztuka ma problemy w obecnych czasach. Ciekawsze jest dla mnie oglądanie na płótnie kopanie kartofli czy buraków w polu od upudrowanej i wyperukowanej pary w ogrodzie. Praca taniutka lecz po co ja kupować? Przywykłem do lepszych prac Merwarta.

‘Upadające kreski’ Henryka Stażewskiego. Jestem wzruszony do samej głębi widokiem tej pracy przedstawiającej upadek człowieka w odważnej symbolice kresek spadających na ziemię; może nawet dokładniej upadek artysty. Łzy same plyną po moich policzkach i rzuca mnaie na kolana na widok tego wielkiego dzieła. To plótno jest małe wymiarami (22 x 22 cm) lecz głębokie myślą jaka jest chyba za duża na mój ptasi rozum. Jestem wstrząśnięty i chyba na długo pozostanę na klęczkach w swej modlitwie do tego obrazu nr 37.

Regarded as one of the greatest artists in the history of Polish art, Jacek Malczewski combined symbolism, mysticism and nationalism into a body of highly original works.
In this rather enigmatic work, an elegantly dressed man is standing in front of the viewer, oblivious of the peculiar encounter taking place behind him between a man in a black cape and a naked woman delivering him a package. At a closer look, the man appears to be the artist himself, whereas the woman bears resemblance with Malczewski’s muse and lover, Maria Balowa. The idyllic countryside background is reminiscent of the family residence in Wielgie, Poland, where the artist spent his childhood and which appears in numerous other works.
Over the years, Malczewski exploited the theme of death in an allegorical manner, portraying death as a young half-naked woman with a scythe in her hands. In his works, she appears to tired travellers, liberating them from the burden of life. What therefore at first may seem a humours scene, is in fact an intricate blend of symbolist imagery which showcases Malczewski’ world of unique imagination.

Kompozycja samotnego wilka, jaką stworzył Wierusz pod koniec XIX wieku, była jego nowym pomysłem w malarstwie. Wierusz miał pomysł po czym powielał go i powielał. Sotheby’s sprzedaje jedną z wersji, znam bardzo podobną. Te repliki (z drobnymi zmianami) są już trochę męczące dla mnie. Jestem jednak przekonany, że estymacja będzie przebita i u kogoś zawiśnie samotny wilk. Za czasów Wierusza, kolekcjoner mógł nie wiedzieć, że kolega ma podobny obraz; obecnie wystarczy kliknąć myszką i już wiemy ile podobnych prac Wierusz namalował.

Kilka obrazów Wlastimila Hofmana, z okresu po II wojnie światowej. Jedynie ten ze Zwiastowaniem (na górze) jest moim zdaniem warty zainteresowania. Wszystkie prace pochodzą ze spuścizny po zmarłym księdzu i stąd treść prac taka religijna. Hofman to znakomity malarz ale trzeba szukać prac sprzed I wojny światowej lub moga być późniejsze ale w tym przypadku trzeba być bardzo, bardzo wybiórczym. Bardzo dużo jego prac jest na rynku ale dobrych jest mało.

Wycena niska, odzwierciedlająca polskie ceny podkolorowanych odbitek Styjeńskiej z teki strojów ludowych. Warto pokorespondować z domem aukcyjnym.
