Kilka portretów polskich rodzin królewskiech z nadchodzących aukcji. Katarzyna Opalińska (1680 – 1747) była żoną króla Stanisława Leszczyńskiego. Jej dwa portrety, w tym miniatura znajdują sę na rynku francuskim. Obok królowej, widzimy również portret Stanisława Leszczyńskiego (1677 – 1766). Te trzy prace są wycenione dość przystepnie.  Natomiast mam wątpliwości co do portretu Augusta II Mocnego (1670 – 1733) w Schloss Ahlden w Niemczech. Ten dom aukcyjny wielokrotnie już sprzedawał falsyfikaty polskiego malarstwa i nabija ceny estymacyjne pod niebiosa .

This representative portrait, painted around 1700, depicts August the Strong (1670 – 1733) as a young king shortly after his acquisition of the Polish royal dignity in 1697, by which he not only achieved a significant increase in rank as crowned head, but also secured greater political sovereignty. This is also expressed in this painting. August the Strong had himself depicted with a shoulder-length allonge wig in a breastplate, wearing a red ermine cloak embroidered with golden royal crowns. As a symbol of his power and rank, a royal crown and an imperial orb are also depicted on his right. At the same time, Augustus the Strong demonstrates his power as a general by holding a corresponding staff in his right hand, while a battle scene with a horseman is indicated in the background. This could be seen in reference to the Nordic War fought in 1700-1721 for supremacy in the Baltic region, in which the Saxon-Polish army under August the Strong also participated in alliance with Tsar Peter I of Russia against Sweden. Only a few paintings by the portrait painter David Hoyer have survived, mostly only engravings after his portraits. Hoyer studied under the Bohemian portraitist Johann Kupetzky; as a sought-after artist, he worked not only for the Saxon-Polish royal and electoral court, but also for Brandenburg-Prussia and Hesse-Cassel. Jest to bardzo ciekawy polonik przedstawiający portret młodej Anny Leszczyńskiej, starszej córki polskiego króla Stanisława Leszczyńskiego. Johan Starbus namalował kilka portretów rodziny Stanisława Leszczyńskiego. Może któreś z polskich muzeów byłoby zainteresowane tym portretem? Sporo informacji o Annie Leszczyńskiej można znaleźć w sieci i nie będę ich tutaj przespisywał. Wycena niska.

JOHAN STARBUS 1679-1724 According to the inscription, the portrait depicts the Polish princess Anna Leszczyńska (1699–1717) Signed on verso J. Starbus. pinx., oil on canvas, 78.5 x 64 cm Paper label on verso; “Anna Leszinska, King Stanislaw Leszinska’s eldest daughter probably donated to Field Marshal Staël o ****, born Ridderschantz to Araslöf” PROVENANCE The industrialist Jean Bolinder (1813-1899) built the Bolinder Palace (today the KAK House) on Blasieholmen in Stockholm in 1874 -1877. The portrait was acquired when moving into and furnishing the newly built palace.
The portrait has been inherited and is today sold by a relative in the fourth generation, to Jean Bolinder.

Anna Leszczyńska (1699–1717) was the eldest daughter of the Polish King Stanisław Leszczyński and his wife, the Castellan of Poznań, Katarzyna Opalińska. Her younger sister Maria (born 1703), married King Louis XV and became queen of France. Anna’s untimely death was probably caused by pneumonia and she was only 18 years old.
In the National Museum’s collections there are two portraits made by Johan Starbus in 1712, one by Anna Leszczyńska when the princess is 13 years old. (NMGrh 1292) and the other by her sister Maria Leszczynska, 9 years old (NMGrh 30) later Queen of France.
In comparison with the portrait in the National Museum’s collections painted by Johan Starbus depicting Katarina Opalinska, 1680-1749, queen of Poland (NMGrh 1293) and depicted in the same pose but wearing a different dress, the portrait above probably depicts Anna’s mother Katarina Opalinska at 32 years old.

The portrait should have been donated to Sofia Elisabet Ridderschantz (1697-1787) to Araslöv (in Kristanstad municipality in Skåne), married in 1761 to the field marshal and governor Georg Bogislaus Staël von Holstein (1685-1763).

Niedawno przedstawiłem portret Marii Leszczyńskiej, żony króla francuskiego Ludwika XV a tu trafia się za nieduże pieniądze portet samego króla polskiego, Stanisława Leszczyskiego, który był ojcem Marii. Portret Stanisława Leszczyńskiego z przypiętym orderem Orła Białego wygląda na brudny, wymaga gruntownego oczyszczenia ale czego oczekiwać za 500 euro?

Jako uzupełnienie poprzedniego wpisu przedstawiam portret Katarzyny Opalińskiej (1680 – 1747), żony króla Stanisława Leszczyńskiego. Sztych oparty jest na oleju wykonanym za życia królowej ok 1725 roku przez (wg katalogu aukcyjnego) Carle van Loo(?). Oryginalnego oleju nie potrafiłem odszukać a co do imienia malarza podanego w katalogu mam wątpliwości, gdyż van Loo to była rodzina malarzy (ojciec i dwóch synów) a imię malarza przypisanego do tego portretu to najprawdopodobniej Jean-Baptist (van Loo). Engraving jest w takim sobie stanie: ma obcięte marginesy a zatem nie należy się bardzo nim ekscytować. Ten sam sztych w dobrym stanie przedstawiam poniżej.

Portet polskiego króla Stanisława Leszczyńskiego (1677 – 1766), uwikłanego za panowania i manewrującego pomiędzy obcymi mocarstwami, osiadłego w końcu w Lotaryngii i tam miłośnie panującego. Portret z tego właśnie ostaniego okresu, gdy Leszczyńki był już bezradny jako król lecz nadal okazywał swój majestat groostajowym futrem, zbroją rycerską i dobrobytem w postaci pełnych policzków i podwójnego podbródka.
