Malarz, którego prace są stosunkowo popularne na polskim rynku aukcyjnym i jakie potrafią osiągnąć zawrotne (pompowane przez handlarzy) ceny. Dominują kompozycje kwiatowe, które moim zdaniem kupują klienci dekorujący sobie w poprawny sposób miejce na scianie a do których zdeformowane przez artyste kompozycje figuralne są niezrozumiałe/zbyt śmiałe w formie. Dobrze zapamiętałem pracę tego artysty sprzed dwóch lat z rynku francuskiego i na rynku szukałbym o podobnej w wymowie: https://polishartcorner.com/2019/10/04/joachim-weingart-1895-1942/. Akt z Bonhams jest dla mnie nawiązaniem artysty do malarstwa okresu starych mistrzów a brakuje na płótnie jedynie starców. Tych można jednak sobie dopowiedzieć lub nawet uznać się jednym z nich. Wysoko oceniam tę pracę.

Joachim Weingart left Galicia in 1912 to take drawing classes in Weimar. In 1914, he studied in Vienna at the School of Fine Arts and visited Berlin. After World War I, he exhibited his work at Lodz. Back to Berlin in 1922, he met Menkes and Alfred Aberdam at the studio of Alexander Archipenko. A year later, Weingart joined Menkes in Paris. The art dealer René Gimpel showed interest in his paintings and signed a contract with him in 1930.
In Weingart’s Nu de dos, the naked woman appears surprised by the spectator’s intrusion in the intimate moment of her bath, which is reminiscent of the biblical episode of ‘Suzanne at the Bath’. René Gimpel, in « Journal d’un collectionneur, Marchand de tableaux » (Ed. Hermann, 2011) wrote Monday 24th November 1931 : « – Weingart. Je crois que cet homme va devenir un vrai peintre. Il est difficile de lui faire terminer une œuvre. » / ( « – Weingart. I believe that this man will become a real painter. It’s difficult for him to finish an art work.’). Estimate 2,500 – 3,500 GBP.
