Bywały już o niebo lepsze prace tego malarza-amatora. Dlatego, 3,000 euro (reserve!) zachowałbym na lepsze czasy. Nie mam wątpliwości odnośnie autorstwa a jedynie brakuje mi motywacji by drętwą ręką siegnąć do portfela. Gratuluję domowi Kaupp profesjonalizmu w zachowaniu tajemnicy wymiarów tej pracy jak również dostrzeżenia rosyjskich chałup wiejskich pomiędzy Lublinem a Warszawą.

Nie podejmuję się napisać czy jest to obraz Stanisława Zukowskiego czy też nie jest. Artysta rzeczywiście sygnował swoje prace w rózny sposób: cylilicą, transponowaniem cyrilicy na alfabet łaciński a także już będąc w Polsce alfabetem łacińskim. To może jest mniej ważne. Istone jest to czy malował w taki właśnie sposób. Należy dokładnie przyjrzeć się twórczości tego artysty z okresu sprzed I wojny światowej. Niedawno przyglądałem się z bliska pracy Żukowskiego (sygnowanej ‘Jukowsky’) bedącego własnością Galerii Puszkina. Było to jednak inne malarstwo od tego prezentowanego w domu aukcyjnym Clars.

Lot 627. Tadeusz Was (Polish, 1912-2005) – ‘Abstract figure in a hat’ and ‘Abstract figures’ A pair of signed limited edition soot cuts, each no 1/1, each approx 21x17cm, both framed. NB: Story has it that the process of soot cut was discovered by Tadeusz whilst stationed in the desert during World War II, he apparently held orange peel over a burning oil lamp and the resulting soot produced formed a perfect impression when in contact with paper.

Lot 626. Tadeusz Was (Polish, 1912-2005) – ‘Italy 1944’ (depicting three soldiers) Black ink on paper, signed and titled, approx 18x28cm, framed. NB: This will almost certainly be a scene of the battle of Monte Cassino of which Tadeusz was involved. Tadeusz not only fought in the Polish Army but also acted as war correspondent, he would be involved in the day to day battles and at the end put down his rifle and pick up his artistic instruments and aproduce work such as this.
