Praca z proweniencją ale patrząc na portret Delfina wiszący w Wersalu to wydaje się, że obraz z aukcji jest dużo gorszy. Obraz opisany w katalogu jako ‘after Kucharski’.

D origine polonaise, Alexandre Kucharski devint rapidement le peintre de l aristocratie, la nationalité de la reine Maria Leczinska n étant pas étrangère à cette promotion. En 1789, Alexandre Kucharski remplace madame Vigée-Lebrun auprès de la Reine Marie-Antoinette et réalise son portrait ainsi que ceux de la princesse de Lamballe, du comte d Artois, de l Impératrice Catherine II de Russie ainsi qu une très célèbre esquisse du Dauphin Louis XVII conservée au château de Versailles. W opisie to tylko zbieżność imienia, nazwiska i okresu życia. Kluczem jest słowo ‘VAN’ a nie ‘VON’ i nie można wtedy się przyczepić do rzetelności domu aukcyjnego i do autorstwa pracy. Nieznany holenderski krewny Wojciecha Kossaka? Być może. Malował dużo gorzej od Wojciecha z Krakowa ale niewątpliwie się wzorował.

Na ścianie, po prawej stronie u góry, wydaje mi się, że wisi autoportret Wojciecha Kossaka (1924 r), obecnie w MN w Warszawie. Historia tego obrazu powiedzie nas do nazwy dworku w jakim Błażej Iwanowski namalował tę pracę w 1929 roku.

The present group of studies offered was made when Kotarbinsky worked on the decoration of Vladimirsky Cathedral in Kiev under the guidance of Adrian Prakhov. The work of Kotrabinsky in this period was influential for such prominent artists as Vrubel, who also participated in this project during his early years.
