Rzeźba Henryka Kuny wykonana we Francji w odlewni Valsuani, prawdopodobnie w jednym egzemplarzu. Proweniencja sięga kolekcji Heleny Rubinstein by po jej śmierci w 1965 roku znaleźć się na aukcji w wówczas największym i słynącym dużą renomą nowojorskim domu Parke-Bernet, wykupionym później przez Sotheby’s. Za kilka dni na aukcji w Sotheby’s będziemy mieli abstrakcyjną rzeźbę Henryka Stażewskiego, (https://polishartcorner.com/2025/06/29/henryk-stazewski-1894-1988-65/) natomiast dzisiaj subtelnie wymodelowaną rzeźbę Henryka Kuny. Nie mam problemu by skłonić się ku obecnej.

Czytelnik (JM) skorygował tytuł tej pracy Stanisława Chelebowskiego jako The Tomb Of Sultan Selim II, Constantinople w kompleksie Hagia Sophia; https://www.loc.gov/item/2003667947/, dołączając poniższą fotografię z kolekcji British Museum. Dziękuję za uwagę. Eksperci domu Christie’s nie podróżowali do Konstantynopala, podobnia jak ja.

Aukcja kolekcji Alicji i Stanisława Jonasów w Shapiro Auctions należy już do przeszłości. Ku mojemu zdziwieniu przebojem był obraz Jana Dobkowskiego, którego cena estymacyjna została przelicytowana. Ku mojemu drugiemu zdziwieniu, obrazy Henryka Stażewskiego nie znalazły dużego zainteresowania. Jeden sprzedano a drugi spadł. Dobry to moment obecnie by kupować poloniki w USA bo dolar dołuje i ten stan trochę potrwa. Za rok będzie już odwrotnie.

Uczeń Jana Matejki, który emigrował do USA i nawet był popularny głównie jako ilustrator amerykańskich czasopism. Przedstawiał głównie urwisów z ulicy, czasami liryczne scenki z dziećmi, podobające się zwłaszcza 100 lat temu. Wycena tego obrazu jest bardzo optymistyczna, znacznie na wyrost.

Inscription in Swedish on verso identifying the artist as Stefan Dąbrowski, husband of Hortense Lombard, identical to Hortensja Maria Anna Lombard 1854-1929. Their son Stefan Tytus Dąbrowski 1878-1947 was an important biochemist and politician, and part of the Polish intelligentsia. Brzydkie falsyfikaty, kopie, etc. mało mnie już interesują ale pierwszy raz spotkałem się z taką wyceną chromolitografii (o ile jest to rzeczywiście chromolitografia na płótnie). Millon upada nisko.

Obecnie na rynku pokazało się wiele prac Jeana Lamberta-Ruckiego. Dominują rzeźby, lecz są to pośmietrne odlewy. Warto zwrócić uwagę na subtelne wykonane rysunki tego artysty, zwłaszcza na głowę Chrystusa.
