Obraz Władysława Ciesielskiego o tematyce barbizońskiej przeszedł zupełnie niezauważony na aukcji we Francji. Sam artysta, który znalazł się we Francji po upadku Powstania Styczniowego, jest mało znany na polskim rynku. Kilka jego prac znajduje się w Muzeum Narodowym w Krakowie, włączając bliźniaczo tematycznie i wymiarowo podobny olej Droga samotności w Fontainebleau, który to artysta podarował MNK. Warto wiedzieć, że obraz z MNK był wystawiony na Salon de Paris w1878 roku (mogę sie mylić co do daty, najpóźniej w 1882 r)) obok drugiego obrazu o tej samej tematyce, o tych samych wymiarach. Przypuszczam zatem, że obraz dzisiejszej aukcji we Francji to ten drugi ‘zaginiony’ i nieropoznany obraz z Salonu, dopełniający olej z MNK. Spora gratka z rynku, niezauważona praca Ciesielskiego sądząc po cenie sprzedaży, bo oczy handlarzy skierowane są głównie na kopie i repliki prac Kossaków.

W tym przypadku, kolorystyka pracy i technika bardzo odbiegają od oryginału ale przy odbrobinie pracy może powstać praca przypominająca obraz prawdziwy. W jakim celu Rosjanie kopiują prace polskich artystów?

Czy ten obraz z 1945 roku to tylko wielki ‘spadek formy’ artystycznej Jerzego Kossaka czy też jest coś zupełnie innego? Sądząc po koniu na którym siedzi Napoleon, braku wykończenia w lewym dolnym rogu, etc., skłaniam się do tego drugiego. Dwie ‘Wizje Napoleona‘ na aukcjach w odstępie jednego dnia. Jeden, prawdziwy, wyceniono żałośnie a nad tym drugim z Kanady ktoś się nadął niemiłosiernie. Jerzy Kossak namalował mnóstwo replik tej pracy ale to nie oznacza, że wszystkie na rynku są jego autorstwa. Warto porównać obok siebie te fotografie bo mniej skrupulatni sprzedawcy będą mówili właśnie o powojennym spadku formy tego artysty.

Szokująca liczba prac na papierze oraz olejów Jeana Lambeta-Ruckiego, głównie we Francji, z lat 20-tych i 30-tych XX wieku. Brak informacji o proweniencji budzi zawsze zafrasowanie, gdyż pojawia się na rynku wiele prac z napisem “Atelier J. Lambert Rucki”, które są bardzo ostrożnie rozważane jako mogące nie mieć autiorstwa tego artysty. Ze względu na ilość i atrakcyjność obecnych prac należy chyba wymienić listy z domem aukcyjnym.

Dzieli je styl a co za tym idzie ocena monetarna. Mały portret kobiety wyceniono na milion dolarów a portret św Antoniego na okruch tej ceny. Dodam, że w 2016 roku Sotheby’s sprzedał ten portet świętego za $62,500 (z opłatami) co biorąc pod uwagę obecną wycenę świadczy o inflacyjnej deprecjacji wartości świętego na rynku. Patrząc inaczej, rynek popiera młode kobiety o czerwonych ustach.
