Brdzo mało oryginalne tytuły prac. Czyżby autora zawiodła wyobraznia? Dobrze przecież wiedziec o czym mysli malując. Paski to niezły i udany (sądząc po rosnacych cenach) pomysł na życie.

Trzy prace Leona Tarasewicza zamykają majowy katalog bostońskiego Skinnera. Bardzo sobie cenię tego malarza za jego niezwykłe czytelne i proste kompozycje. Te wystawione na aukcji mają jedną podstawowa wadę – są za duże by je powiesić w przeciętnym mieszkaniu. Zresztą, nie są to największe jego prace jakie Tarasewicz spłodził w swojej dotychczasowej karierze. Potrafił zamalować ściany, podłogi i chyba sufity (mogę się pomylić co do sufitów) galerii w jakich wystawiał. Jest barwną postacią współczesnego polskiego malarstwa a ja od dawna szukam na aukcjach poza Polska jego pracy podobnej do tej sprzedanej w Desie w 2012 roku (fotografia na samym dole).

Condition: Flaking/losses, creases/ripples to the sheet (inherent to the medium and process), tack holes to corners, not examined out of frame. Estimate: $25,000 – $35,000.
N.B. Tarasewicz’s works have been described by Mariusz Hermansdorfer, director of the National Museum in Wroclaw as “deceptively simple”–they depict the natural landscape of Bialystok in Northeast Poland but also express ‘the joy of experiencing and creating.” (1) Hermansdorfer adds that he “conjures nature, arranging and conducting mysteries akin to the practices of shamans and effects the metamorphoses of things in order to grasp their essense.”
Tarasewicz attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, studying under Tadeusz Dominik (Polish, b. 1928), receiving his MFA in 1984. He has participated in several one-man and group exhibitions at the Nordenhacke Gallery in Stockholm, Galeria Foksal in Warsaw, and the 49th Venice International Biennale, amongst others.
