Lot 0218. Life size oil on canvas portrait of Queen Consort, Princess of Poland, Maria Karolina Zofia Felicja Leszczynska (1703 –1768) who married the French King Louis XV. Large and ornate gilded frame. PROVENANCE: Purchased from John Weatherell Antiques, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England in 1984. MEASUREMENTS: 82″ x 53-1/2″. Overall with frame 100″ x 70″ x 5″. CONDITION: Toning and darkening to varnish consistent with age and display. Relined with areas of restoration. Minor losses, craquelure and lifting to paint surface. Stretcher marks to lower third. Appears unsigned. Repairs and losses to gilt frame.
