Condition, The painting is in good condition, showing minor framing marks, areas of retouching affecting the margins and tiny stains. The frame has major losses. The size of the painting is 69.5 x 49 cm, the framed dimensions are 82 x 61.5 cm.

Mieczyslaw Reyzner (1861-1941), Mieczyslaw Reyzner was born in 1861 in Lviv, in today’s Ukraine. In 1880, he moved to Vienna and studied panting at the Academy of Fine Arts. He continued his studies in Munich and Paris. Since 1897 he was based in Lviv. His oeuvre includes paintings with genre scenes, religious subjects, landscapes, portraits and still lifes.

Każda scena Teofila Kwiatkowskiego tematycznie związana z Chopinem, Polską, nawet replikowana, będzie miała większą wartosc od tej martwej, wydumanej i sztucznej sceny sredniowiecznej. Dla mnie fakt obecnosci tego malarza w danej historycznej sytuacji i przeniesienia jej na papier jest ważniejszy of wyobrazni historycznej.
