Wojna polsko bolszewicka widziana z obu stron to przedmiot mojego dodatkowego plakatowego zainteresowania. Ten plakat spotyka się stosunkowo często a że jest wredny i podły to nie ma zbyt dużego zaintesowania u kupujących, ani Polaków ani Ukraińców ani glupich bolszewików. Plakat winien w sposób syntetyczny zawierać jakąś myśl a ten jest głupi bo polski ‘pan’ w rogatywce obładowany łupami przechodzi przez płonącą ziemię. Kto tę ziemię palił? Kto kradł? Oj, pomyliło się tym kałmuckim, skośnookim, bolszewickim ‘wyzwolicielom’ w tej ich tępych mózgownicach. Jak łgali sto lat temu tam łżą do dziś.

Warto zobaczyć ku przestrodze to bolszewickie propagandowe gówno. Z niedowierzaniem czytam, że plakat był drukowany w Krakowie w 1920 roku, choć 25 lat później nie brakowało również w Krakowie polskich bandytów wysługujących sie boszewizmowi.

Lot 13. Niech żyje Polska Socjalistyczna Republika Rad! [Long Live the Polish Socialist Soviet Republic!], a Polish language poster by an anonymous artist, 1920, 96 x 71 cm.

This is a last minute arrival, and we had little time to research this poster. That it dates to Russo-Polish conflict of 1920, and calls for the replacement of the Polish government with a Soviet style regime, does not seem in doubt; but we find the consignor’s further assertion that it was surreptitiously published in 1920 in Krakow difficult to believe. In all likelihood, the poster was either ordered by the short-lived Polrevkom (Tymczasowy Komitet Rewolucyjny Polski [Provisional Revolutionary Polish Committee]) regime in Bielostok (a point of view popular with bloggers showing the poster on the internet), or produced by the Polish Communists’ Printing House in Kiew. The latter continued to produce posters calling for the revolution in Poland all through 1920, even after it became clear that the Red Army offensive had been repelled.

Poland Travel Poster (Office du Tourisme, 1933). Poster (25.25″ X 39.25″) “Skieurs! La Pologne Vous Attend.” A very rare Polish travel poster from the 1930s designed by Osiecki and Hryniewiecki. There were two versions printed, one in Polish and this one, in French. Touchup to chips and tears in the right border has this piece display-ready. Fine/Very Fine on Linen.

Lot 33. Zapisujcie sie na czlonkow czerwonego krzyza [Join the Red Cross Society], a poster by an unidentified Polish artist (signed in plate “W.P.”). Published by F. Pilczek, Poznan, c. 1920. 75 x 50 cm. $500 – $750’

The Polish chapter of the Red Cross Society (Polski Czerwony Krzy?, PCK) was founded in 1919. It provided significant assistance to the Polish Army by operating frontline ambulances, and later played an important role in organizing POW exchanges and repatriation after the end of the Russo-Polish War.

Warto przypomnieć o tym czerwonym ścierwie i bydle bolszewickim wespół z z zaprzedanymi polskimi zdrajcami próbującym już w 1920 roku podbić Polskę. Plakat paskudny, aż serce boli patrzeć, ale zarazę udało się odeprzeć na 20 lat. Potem walili….tak jak na plakacie a teraz chowa się ich z honorami w alejach zasłużonych.

Lot 32. Niech Zyje Rewolucija! [Long Live the Revolution], a Polish-language propaganda poster by an anonymous artist. Published by Polish Communist Publishing, Kiew, 1920.

We found reproductions of this poster on several Polish websites dealing with the 1920 Russo-Polish conflict; captions typically describe it as a “Polrevkom propaganda poster”. Polrevkom was the name of a short-lived government-in-waiting formed by Polish Communists in anticipation of a Soviet victory over Poland. Originally formed in Moscow, Polrevkom followed the Red Army into Polish territory, setting up headquarters in Biyalostok (at the end of July, 1920), only to follow the retreating Red Army back into Soviet-held territory a month later, before being dissolved.

In strictly technical terms, the characterization of this poster as a Polrevkom production may be inaccurate, but it fairly accurately captures the poster’s spirit – it calls for the creation of a Polish Soviet Republic, and implores the populations of Poland, Belarus, and Ukraine to join the Red Army side. Whether the Polrevkom actually ordered the poster is probably immaterial.

Estimate $1,500 – $2,500.
