Obecnie panuje pewnien zastój na rynku poloników i może dlatego należy docenić prace ‘mniejsze’ wielkich artystów. Jedną z nich jest drzeworyt Mojżesza KIslinga wykonany w 1916 roku, noszący tytuł Water Carrier. Nadkład tego drzeworytu jest stosunkowo niski bo jest to jedynie 50 egzemplarzy z których, sądzę, być może jedynie kilka przetrwało do naszych czasów. Na pierwszy rzut oka, na niekorzyść tego drzeworytu może przemawiać chyba dość wysoko ustawiona cena wyjściowa (€650) oraz kiepski stan kartki papieru. Jednak, należy wziąć pod uwagę, że najróżniejsze pośmiertne litografie tego artysty, drukowane przez syna, dominują na rynku a tu mamy wczesny drzeworyt odręcznie wykonany przez Mojżesza Kislinga i w dodatku sygnowany przez niego. Papier na którym został odbity klocek jest wypłowiały od światła lecz konserwator papieru będzie w stanie przywrócić jego stan, zbliżając do oryigału sprzed ponad 100 lat – nie jest to droga konserwacja. W sumie, należy traktować ten drzeworyt z szacunkiem a w dodatku jako okazję posiadania pracy wykonanej ręką Kislinga. Nie każdego bowiem stać na drogi olej tego artysty.

PS. Widziałem na polskim rynku nienumerowaną odbinkę tej pracy z tytułem “Essai” nadanym przez bęcwała pracującego w galerii czy w domu aukcyjnym. Słowo to napisane przez Kislinga (w miejscu numeracji odbitki) oznacza raczej próbną odbitkę i nie jest tytułem pracy. Podobne lapsusy można spotkać na rynkach zachodnich, gdy nadaje się polskim pracom malarskim tytuły ‘Zakład Stolarski‘ na podstawie nalepek czy stempli ramiarzy.

Martwe natury Mojżesza Kisling są to ‘money makers’, lepsze od pieniędzy, utrzymują swoją wartość niezależnie od sytuacji jaką wykreują politycy. Niektóre z nich artysta wypieścił a niektóre są bardziej spontaniczne, jak ta z Sotheby’s. Ważne by przeszły z aprobatą przez ręce czy oczy Marca Ottaviego.

Mimozy tytaj przedstawione powstały w czasie pobytu Mojżesza Kislinga w czasie II wojny światowej w USA. Obraz ma bezsprzeczną proweniencję, bardzo wyróżniającą się fakture (powiększenie obrazu powyżej) i dlatego oczekiwania na wysoką sprzedaż są w Hong Kongu bardzo wysokie. Znanych jest wiele martwych natur tego artysty, ktorych głównym motywem są mimozy. Nie wszystkie jednak mają jednak uzanie w oczach Marca Ottaviego i dlatego należy być ostrożnym. Jeden z takich właśnie obrazów przechodził w ostatnich latach z domu aukcyjnego do domu aukcyjnego, z jednego państwa do drugiego państwa (https://polishartcorner.com/2024/12/09/mojzesz-moise-kisling-1891-1953-93/) i wygląda, że każda ze sprzedaży byłą wątpliwa.

Odbitka oryginalnego drzeworytu wykonanego przez Mojżesza Kislinga w 1916 roku, przez niego sygnowana i numerowana. Dwa lata temu odbitka tego samego klocka, z osobistą dedykacją artysty została sprzedana dość nisko ale jej stan nie był najlepszy (https://polishartcorner.com/2023/03/28/mojzesz-moise-kisling-1891-1953-62/). W Polsce nadal bardzo często i stosunkowo drogo są sprzedawane w galeriach i domach aukcyjnych pośmiertne litografie prac Mojżesza Kislinga wydane na zlecenie syna artysty z napisem „Atelier Kisling” wraz z podpisem „Jean Kisling”. O ich znaczeniu i wartości warto zapytać Marca Ottawiego, eksperta twórczości tego artysty. Odpowiedź znam ale warto by i inni dowiedzieli się zanim rozważą zakup takiej litografii. Podobną sytuację mamy w przypadku najrozmaitszych limitowanych w nakładzie współczesnych litografii/wydruków bardzo cenionych i drogich prac Tamary Łempickiej pochodzących głównie z okresu międzywojennego. Przoduje w ich wydawaniu kolejne pokolenie pań ‘de’ Łempickich (chyba już wnuczki i prawnuczki) dorabiających sobie tą działalnością, żyjących z twórczości babci/prababci również na polskim rynku. Na rynku liczą się jedynie, jak powyższa, oryginalne odbitki prac Mojżesza Kislinga, przez niego wykonane i przez niego sygnowane, podobnie jak i te niezwykle rzadkie litografie Tamary Łempickiej z lat 30-tych XX wieku.

Bukiet kwiatów w białym wazonie, skromnie oprawiony i bardzo nisko wyceniony, ma pierwszorzędną proweniencję domu pianisty Artura Rubinsteina. Artysta ten był zaprzyjaźniony z wieloma polskimi artystami i czasami trafiają się na aukcjach obrazy z jego kolekcji.

Warto również odnotować kolejną obecność tych samych Mimóz Mojżesza Kislinga. tym razem we francuskim Tajan (06/18/25, lot 38). Obraz ten, tak jak i poprzednio, nie ma certfikatu Marca Ottaviego (co to oznacza to chyba dobrze wiemy), za to ma mocną wycenę €100,000 – 150,000. In 1939, Kisling enlisted as a private 2nd class, while wearing the Legion of Honor on his chest. He would return to civilian life the following year after the Armistice, when the Germans occupied Paris after defeating the French front. Warned by André Salmon of the danger to his anti-Nazi activities, Kisling prepared for exile, taking refuge in Marseille in the hope of crossing into Portugal. During his short stay there, he painted a number of remarkable pictures, including this one. A collector, Monsieur Thène, bought it immediately. On this occasion, Kisling’s wife Renée complained in a letter to Monsieur Thène that the money from the sale was being used by Kisling to frequent prostitutes. We know the painter’s attraction to street models, which he saw as more than just a physical representation, adding a psychological and sentimental dimension. Bohemians were his favorite models. Kisling enjoys depicting these perpetual wanderers, the fruit of an ancient migration. In “L’Epopée bohémienne”, illustrated by Kisling, he describes his fascination with this strange, mysterious, fierce and intuitive people, whose women know the past and foretell the future. In the background, a seated young woman, scarf tied around her neck, is dressed in a long, full skirt that conceals her body, in keeping with Gypsy dress customs. Deliberately unobtrusive, she holds in majesty a young girl, perfectly dressed and adorned in a traditional Hungarian costume that she has modified to her taste. Kisling adds to his painting what he perceives, feels and suspects. In our painting, the little girl is the object of her mother’s undivided attention, as she gazes at her tenderly. Wśród dominujących na rynku znakomitych martwych natur kwiatowych tego artysty, bardzo wylizanych pędzlem, ta przyciszona praca bardzo się wyróżnia co przekłada się na wycenę.
