Glicenstein, Enrico (Henryk) (Polish/Jewish/American, 1870-1942), Eve [or Rachel], 1959, cast bronze sculpture, made at the Roman Bronze Works with their stamp to the lower edge, unsigned, 37 x 16 x 13 inches. Catalogue Raisonne number 109 (an enlarged version of the upper half of number 108). According to the Glicenstein archives, this bronze cast of the upper torso of Eve was made for a posthumous exhibition at Chapellier Galleries in New York. A powerful image showing either Eve as she becomes aware of her own nakedness, or the matriarch Rachel in a time of distress. A copy of the catalogue raisonne is included with purchase.
