Pod koniec ubiegłego pojawiły sie na aukcji we Francji dwie znakomite martwe natury wcześnie namalowane przez Wacława Zawadowskiego (https://polishartcorner.com/2024/12/18/jan-waclaw-zawadowski-zawado-1891-1982-10/). Obecnie, głęboko ukryty w katalogu aukcyjnym inny inny obraz tego malarza, raczej z innego okresu.

We would like to thank Madame Cazier, the artist’s granddaughter, for the information she kindly provided. * Mr. R. was a letter carrier and his wife a janitor at 3, rue Joseph Bara, both of whom lived in the janitor’s lodge in Paris. This mythical building was home to many artists, including Kisling on the 4th and 5th floors, Soutine and Pascin, as well as the art dealer Léopold Sborowski on the 2nd floor. Modigliani often came to work at his dealer’s (The website http://www.zawado.net/ indicates that in 1919, he [Zawado] returned to Paris, and later moved into Modigliani’s studio, where he died in 1920). As a letter carrier, Mr. R. had time on his hands and was happy to help with odd jobs for the tenants of 3, rue Joseph Bara, and their visiting friends. Pejzaże Jana Wacława Zawadowskiego są bardzo podobne do siebie i nie zaskakują. Ustawienie trzech olejów obok siebie na jednej aukcji było chyba pomyłką bo ceny kolejnego okazały się niższe od poprzedniego.

Pejzaże Jana Wacława Zawadowskiego znalazły już stale miejsce na polskich aukcjach i są systematycznie wysłuskiwane z terenów Francji. Obraz sprzedawany we Szwajcarii był być może nieco inny od oczekiwań oraz został wysoko wyceniony i dlatego prawdopodobnie spadł.

Z tych trzech prac Wacława Zawadowskiego na aukcji w Ader chyba tylko pejzaż (być może Prowansja) się liczy. Prosze nie liczyć na zakup w widełkach estymacji bo artysta w Polsce staje się coraz bardziej popularny.
