Two 2″ horizontal tears at the center of both the left and right edges that have seemingly been backed, and other even smaller edge tears scattered throughout. A few small paper losses scattered along the edges, primarily the upper edge. Surface soiling, damp staining, foxing, and handling marks, all scattered throughout. Other lesser defects. Wiele prac Nikifora, prawdziwych lub nieprawdziwych, pojawiło się teraz w na rynku. Moim zdaniem, dwie spośród nich wyglądają dobrze. Mocno wyróżnia się Ostatnia wieczerza, którą być może artysta namalował wzorujac się na widzianej kiedyś fotografii pracy mistrza Leonarda. Nie przejmowałbym sie naddarciami kartki, jej zabrudzeniami czy też śladami wilgoci. Są to bowiem dodatkowe atrybuty autentyczności tej pracy i jej trudnych losów.

Widzę pewną analogię pomiędzy przypisaniem (Zegeschreiben) Nikiforowi tej akwareli przez szwajcarskiego Dobiaschofskiego za 1,000 framków szwajcarskich do przypisania Rollexów z China Town w Nowym Yorku za $30,000. Dobiaschofsky tarci wiarygodność i to jest już kolejny przykład na głupotę pracowników tej firmy. ‘Nikifory’ z Allegro mają większą moc ‘przypisania’.

Jak ważna jest proweniencja w przypadku prac Nikifora to widzimy po cenach sprzedaży u Bukowskiego. Warto też zauważyć, że ceny akwareli tego artysty stopniowo pną się w górę. Przybędzie zatem wkrótce nowych prac na jarmarkach w Polsce.
