Nieskrępowany socrealizmem Jan Lebenstein rozwijał swoją wizję figur osiowych od połowy lat 50-tych. Pierszeństwo wśród krytyków i wystawców mieli jednak ci, którzy szybko i oportunistycznie zerwali z malowaniem Stalinów i Leninów a Lebenstein jako niepokorny nie pasował do towarzystwa kameleonów. Figura osiowa z aukcji we Włoszech została zauważona i doceniona.

Do wyboru dnia dzisiejszego były aż trzy prace Jana Lebensteina. Figura osiowa z 1962 roku, namalowana na nietypowym dla artysty czerpanym papierze, była dla mnie najciekawsza a dodatku najtańsza. Cieszą rosnące ceny w Europie prac tego artysty – okazje nadal można spotkać w USA.

Abakanowicz, Fangora, Wróblewskiego, etc. Dobry to moment by jeszcze w miarę tanio wyszukiwać na aukcjach prace tego artysty. Le Zoophile będzie licytowane za kilka dni a cena już osiągnęła 1,900 euro.

Trzy bardzo dobre akwarele Jana Lebensteina oraz jeden znakomity olej na aukcji we Francji. Ten olej z 1964 roku został nazwany przez dom aukcyjny ‘Horizontal‘ bo autor na odwrocie płótna podał taką właśnie wskazówkę zawieszenia tego obrazu. Na usprawiedliwienie, twór wyobraźni Lebensteina rzeczywiście porusza się w pozycji horyzontalnej. Dyptyk miał wielu amatorów bo licytowano go szybko od ok 5,000 euro.

Aukcja internetowa w Dorotheum nie przyniosła sukcesu temu gwaszowi. Przyjaciel napisał mi wczesniej, że naniesiona sygnatura artysty jest trochę ‘koślawa’. Może ma rację. Gdyby to była praca Lebensteina (może nawet jest) to dość wczesna myślę, że z drugiej połowy lat 50-tych. Brak proweniencji zadecydował o fiasku, cena wyjściowa była też wysoka.

Maj jest dobrym miesiącem dla prac Jana Lebensteina. Kolejna wielowątkowa akwarela, wielkich rozmiarów tego artysty znalazła nowego nabywcę za stosunkowo niewielkie pieniądze. Dobry to moment by systematycznie wzbogacać swoją kolekcję jego pracami.
