Leonard Wintorowski, also known as Winterowski, was a portrait and landscape painter. He studied at the Krakow Academy of Fine Arts, where his teachers were Teodor Axentowicz and Leopold Löffler. However, Winterowski completed his studies at the Vienna Academy. When World War I broke out, Wintorowski worked as a specialized illustrator for the Leipziger Illustrierte Zeitung at the theaters of war in Galicia and Serbia. Estimate €3,000 – 5,000. Bardzo podobna praca przedstawiająca autriackich kawalerzystów była kilka lat temu sprzedana również w Dorotheum (https://polishartcorner.com/2019/08/06/leonard-winterowski-1868-1927/). Kawalerzyści szarzują, szarzuje też Dorotheum z wyceną, lecz rynek ten galop słusznie przyhamował.
