Tadeusz Rychter was a Polish early twentieth-century artist known most for his watercolors of the Holy Land. Many of his surviving paintings are in the possession of British families whose ancestors purchased them while stationed with the British administration in Mandate Palestine, where Rychter lived and worked at the time. He returned to Poland from Israel at the time of the German invasion in 1939, and disappeared in Warsaw in 1941. He died in 1943, murdered by the Nazis.
